Crystal Love is an indigenous trans woman and elected official from the Tiwi Islands in Australia. For decades, she and her family were assaulted, harassed, and discriminated against because she is a sistergirl (a term used within the aboriginal community to describe indigenous trans women). Crystal has become very vocal advocating for and demanding rights for “Yimpininni”- a native term that has come to describe the sistergirls, brotherboys, and other members of the indigenous LGBTQI+ community).
